The classes are energetic and fun workouts focused on moving and strengthening the lower abdominal areas of the body for increased blood flow, organ alignment and for clearing blockages, both physically and mentally.
The Aviva Method is based on a carefully structured and methodical series of movement sequences and works side by side with conventional medicine to support the female reproductive system. During the exercises blood circulation. increases and directs it to the uterus from 5 liters to 17 liters per minute.
The Aviva method was originally recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the 1971 s as exercises for inducing and maintaining regular menstruation. Today it is widely used to induce ovulation and support conception, with a wonderful success rate.
It offers the practitioner an opportunity to strengthen and heal herself, encourages normal bodily functions and supports the occurrence of natural and spontaneous pregnancy.
The Aviva Method exercise technique is quite simple to perform, and after initial guidance, can be done at home. Through an intensive and methodical repetition of carefully structured movement sequences which focus on the pelvic area (upper hips and lower abdomen), blood flow and local heat are increased, thereby revitalising the reproductive organs, as local blood vessels are dilated and the internal organs massaged.
As a self-healing technique, the Aviva Method allows the practitioner to take control over her own body and be more in tune with the hormonal changes that occur through her lifetime, while increasing inner strength. Aviva Gabriela Steiner, legal founder of the method was born in 1930 in Budapest, she grew up practicing gymnastics and later became a professional dancer while also obtaining a degree in Physical Training. Once she left behind her career as a ballet dancer and actress she started working as a Physical Education teacher in Jerusalem. In her free time, she attended Anatomy and Physiotherapy classes at the Medical University and practiced yoga.
For three decades Aviva was trying to come up with movements that would give her control over activities in the uterus: menstruation, conception, and birth control. In one of her gymnastics classes for elder women aged 45 – 70 she asked the class to do a certain movement (now known as the Simple Method’s 7th exercise). To Aviva’s biggest surprise only the women closer to 70 showed up for next class – the rest had their periods!
Aviva continued to develop the exercises and was observing their affects through feedback from the women she was teaching.
Over time, she realized that the movements not only affect menstruation but have a healing effect on most gynecological problems such as infertility, reoccurring miscarriages, cycle irregularity, hormonal imbalance and more.
My journey started 5 years ago when I faced early menopause and experienced severe symptoms. I deeply believe that every problem has a natural solution, so I began my own research. This eventually bore fruit and led me to the Aviva Foundation in Budapest. There, I was referred to a local Aviva licensed instructor, Natalija Trkulja, from Belgrade. In 2019, I traveled to Belgrade, where Natalija taught me the exercises during a 4-hour Aviva Method course.
After the basic course, I began practicing the exercises intensively, three times a week. Within a few months of regular practice, I started seeing results. I was surprised by the improvements: the hot flashes almost disappeared, I began sleeping through the night, my mood improved, my once-curved back became straight, and the incontinence completely vanished. I felt like myself again, the person I had been before.
During this time, I also paid close attention to my nutrition. I significantly changed my diet, incorporating more vegetables and cutting down on meat. I now cook everything myself, using as few processed ingredients as possible. As a result, my digestion improved significantly, and a cyst on my thyroid, which I had for years, disappeared (I have medical proof of this).
I was so amazed by how much Aviva helped me that in 2023, I decided to apply for Aviva instructor training in Budapest. In June 2024, I successfully passed all the exams and became the first licensed Aviva Method instructor for Slovenia and Croatia. My mission is to empower women to embrace their cycles and discover the incredible power within their bodies.
From my own experience, I have learned how much Aviva exercises improved my health and how much happier I am as a person. I can confidently say that Aviva has a profound impact on both the mind and the physical state of the body.
Through Aviva, I have become more connected with my body and my femininity, allowing me to make the changes necessary to get my life back on track. Gradually, this awakening of my femininity became a passion. I finally feel comfortable in my own skin as a woman again, both physically and mentally, in harmony with myself, from the inside out. I am so grateful to have found this method and to live by it; I can't imagine my life without Aviva exercises.
